Back from the Motherland

I recently traveled to Isfahan to visit my family. One of my favorite things to do back home is to check out the fruit and vegetable markets. The smell of fresh ripe fruits puts a huge smile on my face and cant wait to buy loads of fresh produce and run home and gobble it all up!! As Iranians eat everything in season, July brings some of the most visually stunning fruits:

Ruby Grapes......they remind me of jewelry

Sour Cherries......the perfect snack fresh and dry, also used to make jams, pickles and fruit roll ups!

Plums................one of my favorite fruits

Apricots......tooth decay sweetness!!!

Cherries......the ones above are from Mashad, which produces the best cherries in Iran.

I will post some more pictures of my trip soon.

Great pictures, I really REALLY miss IRAN too, only that I've got no one I really know over there which I like.
